Riley's favorite thing to sing at dinner lately is the $5 foot long song from Subway. Of course, when she really belts it out, I never have the camera, but here is my best attempt at capturing the silliness. Not only does she sing it, but she wraps it all up with an evil laugh at the end. Hope you enjoy her rendition. I will keep trying to get her in all her "singing glory".
We also had a very busy day today. We had lunch with my friend Jenny and her husband Adam. It was great to talk and catch up. They live kind of far away, so we do not get together as much as we would like. After lunch we headed over to my Aunt MaryJo and Uncle Denny's for a post holiday family celebration. All of my mom's family was there. It was great to all be together and Riley had a lot of fun playing with her cousins, Reese and Sawyer. I was a lazy photographer yesterday, so there are not any pictures to show all the fun that we had.
Tomorrow, we will be getting ready for the big game! Not sure who exactly we are cheering for, we like them both for different reasons, but either way it should be fun.

A Family Visit
Yesterday we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Warren's for a visit. Papa Larry, Tara, and Brooke were also there for a visit. It was a great time filled with family and some of Grandpa's famous popcorn. Riley had a blast playing with Brooke, her cellphone and camera...she was even playing a game on the phone by herself!!! (Are we in for some adventures and big cell phone bills when she is a teenager!) We always say this, but we need to visit more often.
On the way home, we went and ordered some new floors for the living room and dining room. We are very excited about that! All of you who know us well know how much we dislike the carpeting that came with the house:) Slowly, we are changing it all out. You will have to come and see the change after it is installed.

Just Plain Cute
Riley always loves wearing Mike's hats. Unfortunately I am never able to capture her "cuteness". Well here is my attempt from last Sunday. There are also a few of her "loving" the dog. He really is so good with her....especially since she thinks of him as a ladder, a chair, something that needs to be squeezed as hard as possible, etc.

Dinner with Grammy and Papa Bruce
Last night Grammy and Papa Bruce came over for some dinner. They were in need of a little Riley time. I had asked them to be backup babysitter's and their services ended up not being needed so they were a little bummed. So instead Riley had some playtime with Grammy, we had a delicious chili dinner, (and for all of you O'Keefe's) some chocolate cake with boiled icing and chocolate sprinkles...YUM! It was a great time and I managed to snap a few pics of Riley with Grammy and Papa. Later, I decided it would be nice to have some pictures of us with Riley (I never am in any of them) but as you can see she was not the biggest fan of my idea. Check out that face...who couldn't love the "cheese" face?

This Week's Fun
Here are a few pictures of Riley painting from this week. This appears to be her new favorite thing. If Mommy would allow it, she would paint everyday....unfortunately for her, I can only handle it on bath days.
We have also had some winter fun this week. Lots of snow was dumped on us Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. After everyone making it to school, they decided the weather was too bad and then sent the kids home at 11. They were all so excited! They must be ecstatic today because school is cancelled all day due to the extra cold temperatures. Hope everyone is staying warm. I don't know about all of you, but I have had enough of the shoveling, etc.....I am ready for Spring!!

Sledding
Auntie Kris was very disturbed by my previous posts about Riley sledding on a shovel, so she had to buy Riley some sleds. Today we were able to take advantage of those nice new sleds. We are once again getting more snow!! Riley had a lot of fun helping us shovel and playing in the snow. Diesel, who is not a fan of cold or snow, hung out in the garage. You can see by my attempts to get a picture with Riley that he was not very cooperative. He would not even sit in the snow...what a wimp! Riley had fun going down the hill in the sled and even played on her swingset. You can see her enjoying the swing and the slide. We were out there for quite some time and had to bribe her to get her to come in. Needless to say, she loves the snow! I think she must get that from Grammy Pat. It keeps on snowing, so we will probably have to go back out later:)

Back to Reality
Well, break is over, so I guess it is time for us all to go back to reality. Riley and I have enjoyed the last 2 weeks of vacation and Mike the last week. Here is a little bit of how we finished off the holidays...
New Year's Eve Riley stayed over at Grammy and Papa's and Mike and I went out for dinner and drinks with some friends. We were back to their house before midnight and rang in the new year with champagne and Mom and Dad. It was nice and relaxing. We stayed over and spent New Year's day with them and Nana and Papa T. It was nice to hang out and watch Iowa win...GO HAWKEYES!!
Friday was yet another busy day. I have been hounding Mike for the past few years to take me to see Wicked. On Christmas Day, he surprised me with 7th row seats!!!! I was super excited. Riley got to spend some quality time with Granny and Papa Dan and Mike and I had a real date....I think it has been a while since we had so many hours to ourselves. The play was awesome!!! For any of you who have not seen it, I urge you to try and go before it leaves Chicago at the end of the month. Even Mike, who was not too excited, loved it. He even said he would go again. We finished off our day with dinner and a movie. What a great day it was!
Saturday was not too busy. We got a DVR...I am super excited and had a nice dinner with Granny and Papa Dan. It was great to have time together.
Today nothing exciting.....just getting ready to all go back to reality. Hope everyone had as great of holidays as we did! Thanks to all of you for being a part of our lives.
