28 week Appointment

Today I had my 28 week appointment and all looks great! My blood pressure was great and she had a very strong heartbeat. Must be growing lots too because I gained another 6 1/2 pounds....wow! It was also my glucose test, so now I just have to wait. Hoping everything is just fine. Next month will be my last 4 week appointment and then it will be every 2 weeks. Time is just flying by! The other good thing is that after my next appointment, I will have just 1 more day of work and then home with the girl(s) until October 8th!

I will post an update of pictures this weekend:)

First Trip to the Dentist

Yesterday Riley had her first dentist appointment and she did great! She is the only little kid I have obviously ever gone with, but I would guess she was up there in the best behaved group. She sat in the chair and let them do everything! The dentist peeked at her teeth and counted them. Then the hygienist showed her all the tools, cleaned and flossed her teeth, and painted on the fluoride. We did not push for the x-rays. But when she was done she asked and received a new toothbrush and toothpaste. She was not allowed to brush her teeth for 6 hours after the fluoride, so she was very shocked when she didn't have to brush her teeth before bed:) Our little girl is growing up so fast!! And she looked so grown up in that chair that I wanted to snap a picture, but I resisted the urge...

Mike also went for the first time in who knows how long and although I could not be with him too....I think that he was brave and cooperative too;)

Baby's Room

Mike has been very busy the last 2 Saturdays painting in the baby's room. And I must say that it looks fabulous!!! We decided to paint the walls a light green and then add in an orange stripe. Well when he was taping, we decided to make it 2 orange stripes:) We are very pleased with how it turned out and I am so proud of the great job that he did. The walls are still bare...waiting for some artwork, but the room is starting to feel like a real nursery. I find myself just going in there to "check it out". I will post more pics when it is all ready for her, but here are some of the paint...I do not think the pictures do all his hardwork justice though.

Oh and I think Mike is coming around to the idea of another little girl. Today Riley was with Granny and Papa Dan, so I dragged him to Babies R Us to browse at some things. We found ourselves in the clothes and he picked out a going home outfit. It is so cute and guess what it says? "I Love Daddy!"

Spring Craft

In Riley's Easter basket, Granny had gotten her some ceramic animals that she could paint. Of course she had to try them out the next day...our last day of spring break. (And yes if you look at what date I am posting these....it has taken me 2 weeks to do this....sorry.) She had a blast painting them and did a very good job. She chose to paint the duck and the sheep. She did not really branch out much in the blending of different colors, but she had a great time and that is all that really matters. The duck was given to daddy and is now at work and the sheep has yet to be given as a gift. If you play your cards right, maybe she will feel you are worthy of one of her handmade crafts. She does still have 4 more to do:) When I was taking these pictures of her, I also cannot believe that she is almost 4! Time surely does fly. We are getting ready to start all over and continue to enjoy the joys that our kids bring to us! Daddy has been doing some painting of his own. Stay tuned to see what he has been up to.....

Happy Easter!

We hope that everyone enjoyed a fabulous Easter surrounded by family and remembering the reason that we celebrate. Here at the Warren house, we had a great day. Last night the Easter bunny dropped by and hid 90, yes 90 eggs to find. I know....the bunny went a little crazy around here:) So our day started with our egg hunt and followed up with our Easter basket. Riley got lots of goodies including Toy Story, some new pj's, and a new huge ball for the backyard. Then it was on to open all those eggs and see what was inside. We had a quick breakfast and then it was off to church. We thought by going to an earlier mass we would beat the crowd, but boy were we wrong. It was standing room only, but fortunately Riley and I managed to get a seat and she was a big girl. Then it was home to get ready for Granny and Papa Dan's visit. We had a great time with them, which included eating way too many yummy hors d' oeuvres (probably spelled way wrong) and a delicious turkey "linner" made by the crockpot. Our great meal was followed by some yummy bunny cake. It was so nice to have a relaxed Easter with them at home today....even if I am still stuffed.

Tomorrow, I get to enjoy my final day of spring break. As of right now, Riley says that she wants to go to school, but I am not getting my hopes up. Her plans can change in a second:) I just hope to get in a little relaxation and clean and vacuum the inside of my car....it sooooo needs it!

We hope that everyone was able to have as great of a day as we had! Love you all!!!!

Easter Fun

Riley has been asking for days to color some eggs for the Easter bunny, so tonight was finally her night. Even though she was exhausted after a long 2 days with her cousins and Auntie Shannon, she found enough energy to do a great job on the eggs. She pretty much did it all by herself with the exception of placing them in the holder. She was very gentle and even practiced writing on almost all of the eggs. She topped off the fun evening with a super long bath and is now hopefully drifting off to a long night of sleep. I predict a late wake up tomorrow after this week's adventures. She finally stopped making her new Hello Kitty that she made today purr. (Shannon....Tucky, her bed, and all of her things are sleeping in bed with Riley tonight. It is safe to say that she had a FABULOUS time last night and today!!! :) Thanks again!)

Enjoying the Weather!

Yesterday Riley and I headed to the zoo to meet Shannon and the kids. Who knew when we planned it earlier in the week that it would turn out so beautiful of a day. Or that EVERYONE would be going to the zoo and it would take FOREVER to manage to get there?! After lots of patience, we finally made it and had a great time. The kids all enjoyed being together and seeing the animals. We had a great picnic and soaked up the beautiful weather. Riley actually went home with them too and it sounds like she had a great time. She has been adamant that she does not want to sleep over anywhere, so maybe yesterday will change all that. (Here are just a few pictures of the kids enjoying the day.)

Today Riley is still hanging out with Auntie Shannon and her cousins. They went to Jump Central and will head to Build-A-Bear later. We really miss her, but Mike and I are being productive today in the baby's room:) I got the closet all organized and have 3 bins of clothes in there and 5 bins to go to the basement...phew...glad that is organized! Mike is putting the dresser together and is going to prep the room for painting. It is really coming together and feeling more exciting to be moving ahead. Still working on the names too:)
