5 weeks

Time is just flying by and Payton is already 5 weeks old! For those of you that don't think I take pictures...I do and am trying to get even better. Yesterday I took some when Payton and I had some quiet moments while Riley was at school. She continues to be a wonderful addition to our family and is awake more so becoming more interactive. She had her first tastes of formula last week and did not bat an eyelash at it being different but boy did it do a number on her little tummy. Tonight, Riley and I attempted to give Payton some tummy time. She did not last too long before she got fussy. We moved her to her back and then all on her own, Riley decided to read her some stories. It was so darn cute and she even picked out a touch and feel book and was picking up Payton's hand to rub along the different textures. It was such a cute sister bonding moment!!

I do....

A big congratulations to Kelly and Ryan...the new Mr. and Mrs. Krumwiede! On Saturday they got married and it was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding. We were so lucky to be able to share their special day and to get to see Mike's family. His sister Mallory, husband Mike, and daughter Farrah were in from Texas so it was great to see all of them and for them to meet Payton. We had a great Friday and Saturday enjoying everyones company. The wedding was outside and it was a beautiful day, albeit a little warm. Riley had a fabulous time playing and dancing with her cousins. (The place had a huge outdoor area that entertained them and Riley LOVED dancing...jumping really!) Payton stayed for the ceremony and a few pictures and then my mom was so kind (she forced herself!) to take her back to their house, so we could have a baby free evening. And we really enjoyed that! I tried to get a few pictures of all of us, but time was limited, so we did the best we could. The photographer, who actually was the same one we had, got few of the family, but never the 4 of us....just 3 swapping kids. It will be nice to see how those turned out though. It was a fabulous evening, but boy were we pooped when we finally got home at 1 AM. (Don't know the last time I was out that late!) Fortunately, besides getting up for a few feedings, we all slept until almost 11!

We wish Kelly and Ryan the best of luck in their new marriage!!! Love you guys!!!
Riley also came home with a new pet....one of the blue beta's from the table centerpieces. She is loving her new pet which she has named Goldie (the neighbor has a goldfish named that and there was no convincing her why the name was not good for her fish...). We went on Sunday and bought it food and she makes sure that he gets enough to eat and always goes and "checks" on him. We will see how long this lasts....

Carnival

Last night we headed out to the Three Rivers carnival. This year we met our neighbors there and had a blast. The kids had fun riding the rides together and playing 1 game...that is all us mean parents would allow.:) Payton did great for her first time too. Just one diaper change in the lawn before a blowout occured:) The rest of the time she slept or looked around. It turned out to be a great night too for the weather. Riley cannot wait for the next one....

4 weeks

Well Payton is 4 weeks old today...my how time is going fast! She continues to be a great baby and a wonderful addition to our family. She is a great sleeper, and in fact went almost 8 hours on Friday night. Everyone of course loves her and Riley is a great big sister too! She has experienced many things in this short time with so much more to come. She will not go back to the doctor until she is 2 months, so we will have to wait til then to see how much she's grown. She still continues to be a spit upper though:( And as for me, I am feeling great!! I had my 4 week check up today and got the green light to get back on the treadmill. I am able to get in a few pairs of pre-pregnancy pants, so that makes me super happy! And I have already lost 30 pounds!!!!! Just 9 more to go to get back to my pre-Payton weight....but I am ready to tackle the challenge and get my body back to normal....ok whatever the new normal is after having 2 kids:)

My apologies....

I want to apologize quick for those who are always checking to see what we are up to and see new pictures. While we are all doing great, I have not had much time to get on the computer to update the blog and add pictures. There are many reasons for this, the 2 main reasons being that 1. Riley is in love with playing on the computer and just when I think I can get on here, she asks to and 2. Payton is a great baby but LOVES to be held. This second reason makes it challenging to type and add pictures. In fact, even as we speak, she is laying in my lap putting my left leg to sleep...and Riley is at school, which is why I can do this:)

So please do not give up on me and I promise to try and get better at updating.....
(And I have MANY pictures to add...)

Meeting Family

Payton has had a busy 4 weeks meeting all the people in her life that love her! Last Friday (the 6th) we headed to Indiana for her to meet some more of the Warren's. Ryan, Kersten, and Hudson were in town from Minnesota and Matt, Rod, Carolee and Great Grandpa were also there. She was a perfect angel the whole time (and the long "trafficy" car ride) and everyone enjoyed holding her. Riley also enjoyed some personal golf lessons from Ryan and all the attention that she got as well.

In addition to the Warren visit, the Andrews were also in town from New Jersey! Saturday we headed there to see them and for them to be able to meet Payton. The cousins had a blast and everyone loved Payton. (Of course, who wouldn't love her?!) It was a great day and we were able to see them many other times throughout the week. Kris LOVES to take pictures and soon I will have a free minute to get some of them up here. To sum the wee up....the cousins had a BLAST being together! (As you will see from the pictures...) There was a pool party, a sleepover with smores, the zoo, and mini golfing. As well as just hanging out together and everyone taking turns passing the baby. Riley was sad to say good bye to them, but she will get to see them one more quick time before they head back to New Jersey. It stinks that they have to live so far away and we look forward to the next time we are all together. (LOTS of photos to add here soon...stay tuned...)

This weekend....Kelly's wedding and meeting more family! Cannot wait!!!!

Great America

Today Mike and Riley headed to Great America. They were joined by Granny. Shannon, Juliet, Jadyn, and Eli and together they all had a blast! The morning started out super rainy but it cleared up by the time they got there. The day was rather cloudy I think, but that helped to not make it so hot. They started off their day in the water park and later enjoyed some rides. I am not sure what was Riley's favorite, she keeps changing her mind, but it was either the Wizzar or the Scoby Doo ride. Together the cousins (and grownups) had a great time and believe it or not, the kids lasted until after 9 o'clock! By the time Mike and Riley got home, it was after 11, but I think they both agree that it was well worth it.

2 Week Check Up

Hard to believe, but Payton was 2 weeks old yesterday. Today we headed out to the doctor...my first official outing all by myself with both of them. (And I was even early!) Payton is still 20 inches long, but has had major weight gain since we left the hospital. When they weighed her the night before we left, she was 7 pounds even....today she was 8 pounds and 13 ounces!!! My how she is growing! Doctor was very pleased with her growth. She is a great baby and an excellent sleeper too. We are just hoping that she outgrows the spitting up that she does oh so often. (Especially after I have just given her a bath or put her in clean clothes....)

And I promise to get better about taking more pictures of her.
