Spring Pictures

I am going to just compile all the photos from the spring into one slideshow. Then hopefully I will be up to date and can maybe have a fresh start for the summer and stay on top of things. This would make Chrissy so proud:) These pictures are from March up until this morning. I need to get better about taking out my camera and using it! I do take a fair amount of pictures with my phone and am trying to get these all emailed to myself and uploaded as well. Then I hope to get much better in my updating. Now that it is summer, we may even start doing some exciting things! I know one little person here is very excited for her 5th birthday on Wednesday and then there is a first birthday right around the corner too:)

This should be the new title of my blog!! I know that I have been a SUPER slacker with updating my blog and I am sorry. It seems like having 2 kids did not dramatically change our lives. Apparently though, it has made updating my blog next to impossible, and I am not exactly sure why. I can just never seem to find the time or energy to turn the computer on and add some pictures. (By the way, I have not been good at taking pictures either, and when I do...they stay on the camera!!) I am going to try and get better now that we are on summer vacation around here and Payton is a super napper.

In the time being, here is one photo to tide you over:) I took this of the girls last night. Riley was wanting them to have matching pj's again....she loved the matching winter ones.....and I love all things monkey, so voila! Matching Monkey PJ's!!!

Riley's Soccer Season

This spring Riley decided that she wanted to play soccer. The next town over has a soccer club, so we signed her up. Her team had one practice a week and then a game on Saturday. The purpose of this first year was for them to learn the basics of soccer, get some exercise and have fun. Not sure about the first one, but she definitely accomplished the last two:) She had fun playing with the kids and running around, yet not real aggressive with the ball. She never really got in there and tried to kick the ball. Mike was a little disappointed that she was not the next Mia Hamm or Brandi Chastain out there I think, but it was good to see her have fun. When we asked her if she wanted to play in the fall or again next spring, she said "no" so I guess we will just wait and see what things she will do in the future. We would like to see her have at least one activity that she keeps busy doing. Up next....swim lessons:)

9 month stats

Payton had her 9 month appointment today and here is how she measures up. Her well visit turned into a "sick visit" as she was sick over the Easter weekend. Think she is getting back to normal, or we hope so. Just a viral thing the doctor thinks. Made for an exciting...not....trip to Decatur for Mike's cousin Jessica's wedding reception.

20 lbs 6 oz. (75th percentile)
27 1/2 inches (45th percentile)

She continues to get a little lower in her weight compared to her peers and bet she would start thinning out a little more if she just started moving more:) She does still love ALL foods though and is loving getting to try "grown up" foods.

Happy 9 Months!!

Wow...it is hard to believe that Payton is already 9 months! Where is the time going? At 9 months she is rolling lots (just like Riley did to get along), working on some teeth...maybe, and learning to explore. She has not yet figured out how to crawl and seems content with sitting and playing or rolling around. She continues to love ALL food and is beginning to try some "real food". Payton is such a happy, easy going baby and brings so much joy to our lives!

Here are some pictures that were taken on Saturday. She was all dressed up for Layla's ladybug party:) We head to the doctor next Tuesday and I will update then on how big she is. My guess...around 22 pounds!

Moving on Up....

Mike and I got a new bed...so Riley was fortunate to get our old bed:) Her room looks so grown up now with a queen size bed! No baby room anymore. When we look at her, we cannot believe how old she is getting. She has started soccer as well and soon will be in kindergarten! Talk about time flying. Here are a few pictures of the "new" room.

Payton at 7 months

On Saturday Payton turned 7 months! It is hard for us to believe that she is growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant and now every day she keeps changing. She has pretty much mastered sitting up now, can roll over, but still hates being on her tummy, so we don't think crawling will be any time soon. She loves to stand and gets crazy in her jumperoo. Payton seems to love all foods and loves eating too:) She is just starting to try and feed herself and it is so cute when the little pieces of food get stuck to her hand or in her fist and she can't figure out how to get them into her mouth. This weekend she has really started babbling and is starting to make some real sounds. Especially "da" and "ba". (Also the occasional "ma"). Last night it totally sounded like she said da-da and today when I picked them up from daycare, they said it sounded like she said da-da and hi. I guess "talking" will be just around the corner and since she is not quiet....it is going to get a lot louder around here. She also has starting opening and closing her hands, so maybe some waving soon too:) We love watching her grow and do all these new things. It is also so wonderful to see the two girls interact and love each other. As you can see from the pictures, this weekend we attempted to give them a bath together and both girls were in heaven!
