You can compare....
(Weeks 8, 12.5, 16, and 20)
(Weeks 24, 28, and 32) (And I know....whoa on the 32...I feel the same way!)
Pictures and Weekend
Here are some pictures we took today...32 weeks and moving right along! Currently, I am washing all the bedding. Guess I am feeling like now I need to get more organized since summer (well for me) is officially here. And because this baby wants to be special and make this pregnancy unique...I found out that my iron is low, so I now get to be on iron pills twice a day. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the adventures for this pregnancy are over!
We have had a busy, but fun holiday weekend! On Friday, Riley was finally convinced by Grammy to go and spend the night and boy did she have a blast. She had so much fun that it was 8:30PM on Saturday, before she decided to come back. She helped Grammy plant flowers and had a lot of fun with Bika and Mason. While she was gone Mike worked and I was able to finally get my hair done and run those ever present errands and cleaning.
Sunday we ran more errands and just had fun hanging out as a family. In the evening, Auntie Bika was back again to watch Riley and Mike and I went to a friend's to enjoy some grown up time. Riley and Bika had a blast yet again and she was sad to see her go. I think she will have withdrawal over the next week.
Today turned out to be a rainy day, so we headed to the movies to see Shrek with the neighbors. Who would think that we get caught in traffic though? 55 appeared to be closed and we could not figure out why, so we headed to the frontage road that runs right alongside it. We could see nothing and then the State Troopers started coming, followed by a bunch of black suburbans and other official cars with lights on. Then I remembered that the President was in Elwood today, podunk Illinois, and we were not allowed on 55 because the President and the convoy were making their way back to the city. For our non-special family, being the 40 or so feet away from the presidential motorcade is probably the closest we will ever be:) And the movie was super cute too! Now the sun is back out and we are gonna barbeque some steaks and our first corn on the cob of the season....yum!
Thank you to all the soldiers past, present, and future for making this Memorial Day possible. Thanks for all you do for our country!!!!

32 Week Appointment
Yesterday I had my 32 week appointment and am proud to say that things are still progressing along well. My blood pressure is still great, so that made us very happy. The only thing that I was not pleased with was the weight gain. I have been pretty good at using my treadmill and don't think I eat excessive amounts of food, bu somehow I had large weight gain month number 3 in a row. I am not sure where all the weight is coming from, or even scarier...where it is all going. Guess all that matters is that we have a healthy baby...even if I am already past my target weight gain goal. And the scary thing is that I think I am not looking as big in other places as I did with Riley. We now go for appointments every 2 weeks, and I am guessing that these next 8 weeks will go by rather quickly.
We have gotten a little more done in the nursery too. My art teacher finished the pictures and they turned out fabulous! I am going to wait to post pictures until it is pretty much all done though. I also washed all of Riley's clothes and have them put away in drawers. I have made my list of what we still need to buy and do, so now that I am officially on summer vacation, I guess I will start to work on that. (and with my maternity leave, I am on home with my girl and then girls until October 8th!) We are all getting very excited and Riley is beginning to talk about it more, and even with non-family, so that is definitely a move in the right direction. We have made our final decision on the first name, not going all the way public posting it on here though, and continue to work on the middle name. So now just to wait these next 8 weeks and enjoy ALL the moving around she does in there! (She is SUPER active.) And I will try and post new pictures this weekend.

Fun Weekend
This weekend the weather was nice and we enjoyed every minute of it!
On Saturday Riley and I met Auntie Bika at the zoo. It was a great day to be outside and see the animals and it was not too hot. We checked out many of the old favorites as well as the new bear exhibit. Erika and I enjoyed seeing the bears' new home although it was a little crowded since it is so new. Riley had her hopes set on the goats and that was all she could focus on. Us girls had a lot of fun together. After the zoo, Riley and I got some flowers and then dinner and ice cream. And after our day of adventures, would you believe she still had energy to play at McDonald's?!
There is only one word to describe yesterday and that was HOT! I did manage to get all of my flowers planted and Riley had a lot of fun playing with the neighbors in the water. While I planted, first Mike and Riley headed across the street and I think between our house and the neighbors...they had every water pool/toy out that we own. They even turned the regular swingset into a water park! Oh did she have a ball! Then when we thought we were done outside, we headed to the neighbors behind us for a little more playing. It was an exhausting day...for me at least...but we all had a blast! I thought she would fall asleep and I could grocery shop in peace, but my helper still had more energy for our weekly trip to Walmart:) Can I have just a little of that energy? Can't wait for more summer weather and memories!
Oh and proud to say that this is my last week of work before vacation. Kids today and tomorrow and then I am done on Thursday!!! Cannot wait.....:)

I passed!!
On Saturday I had my 3 hour glucose test and I am proud to say that I passed! The doctor's office called yesterday, but of course were gone, so I had to wait until this morning...a long wait I might add. When I talked to the nurse this morning, she said that everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about. What good news!!! My blood pressure is also still good...had the school nurse take it last week...so fingers crossed that we can make it through the next 10 weeks with a healthy mommy and baby. Who by the way is a VERY active little girl!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mother's in our lives. And we are blessed with so many great women around us! We celebrated today with a brunch with my family. It was great to all be together and of course share some delicious food. The afternoon was spent cuddling on the couch. Riley even took a nap on me while the baby was going nuts in there. What a great day!
And last weekend we were able to celebrate with Mike's mom. That was also a great day spent with great family, food, and fun!
I also took my glucose test yesterday and it was actually not as bad as I expected. Now just to wait for the results. I will be calling the doctor this week if I don't hear from them and NOT assuming that no news is good news. Fingers crossed my numbers are ok.

Pregnancy Fun
So at my 28 week appointment last week I had my glucose test. They told me that no news was good news and that I should have my results by Thursday or Friday. When it was the beginning of this week and I still had not heard anything, I figured all was good, but No...They called on Tuesday and said that my levels were high so the doctor was requesting a 3 hour fasting glucose test. Oh what fun! I get to go this Saturday morning and take it. Wish me luck that I pass this one. Oh and that I make it not eating from Friday before bed until about noon on Saturday. I will let you all know how this one goes. I was just hoping to get through this pregnancy smooth sailing....hoping this test is just a little speed bump, to make me pause, and not more.

28 Weeks
Really growing....sometimes I feel like it is sticking out so far already and cannot imagine what I will look like in 12 more weeks. Stay tuned....
And something else just for fun....
This is me now at 28 weeks with baby #2.....
And here is me at 31 weeks with Riley. Guess it is true what they say that you get bigger with each subsequent pregnancy....since I am 3 weeks farther along, yet appear smaller than I am now. (Although this time, I feel like I am really gaining it mostly in my belly...unlike with Riley.) How big will this bump grow to??? Maybe we are afraid to find out.
