Payton at 7 months

On Saturday Payton turned 7 months! It is hard for us to believe that she is growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant and now every day she keeps changing. She has pretty much mastered sitting up now, can roll over, but still hates being on her tummy, so we don't think crawling will be any time soon. She loves to stand and gets crazy in her jumperoo. Payton seems to love all foods and loves eating too:) She is just starting to try and feed herself and it is so cute when the little pieces of food get stuck to her hand or in her fist and she can't figure out how to get them into her mouth. This weekend she has really started babbling and is starting to make some real sounds. Especially "da" and "ba". (Also the occasional "ma"). Last night it totally sounded like she said da-da and today when I picked them up from daycare, they said it sounded like she said da-da and hi. I guess "talking" will be just around the corner and since she is not quiet....it is going to get a lot louder around here. She also has starting opening and closing her hands, so maybe some waving soon too:) We love watching her grow and do all these new things. It is also so wonderful to see the two girls interact and love each other. As you can see from the pictures, this weekend we attempted to give them a bath together and both girls were in heaven!

Bieber Fever

We figured we had a few more years until Riley went boy crazy and had her first crush, but we were so wrong. In the past few weeks, a major case of Bieber Fever has happened to our sweet girl. For anyone without kids, Bieber fever is what they call when kids are in love with Justin Bieber. It started out at school I believe with a few of the girls talking about it and since then it has grown. First the songs, then watching videos on you tube, and now full scale madness. This past weekend we had to go and see the movie and she also got Bieber valentine's to share at school. (Complete with a poster that she carries around....) We got her 2 cd's for Valentine's day and with other valentine money, she had me take her to the store so she could get another cd and a shirt. She literally has to wear the shirt the day after it is clean. (Guess I am going to need to be slow in getting it cleaned....) Oh and did I add that all we listen to in the car is Justin Bieber and that she goes to bed listening to his cd? I am sure that this is all just a phase (we hope) and soon she we will be back to thinking boys have cooties. But for now it seems to be all Bieber all the time. Here are a few of her in her coveted "Bieber tee"!

Payton's Baptism

Today we had Payton baptized and made an official member of our church! I know I am a little behind as she is almost 7 months, but somehow time just got away from me. She was a very big girl during mass and the whole celebration. She only cried a little when Fr. Mark rubbed the oil and water on her head. (He is very liberal with the oil too...in fact a week later...you can still smell the oil!!) In true Payton fashion, she also spit up on the altar a bit, but I am sure it was not the fist time or the last that that happens at church.

After the ceremony, we had a little party at our house. It was so great to be surrounded by the love of our families! Payton was not much of a partier...she took a long nap in her Auntie Bika's arms:) Thanks to all that could join us on her special day!! I will post a few pictures when papa shares them:)

Snow Fun

This morning we woke up to a few more inches of snow. Enjoyed playing in the new fallen snow....on top of all the blizzard snow:)

Blizzard 2011

Well the Warren family has survived their first blizzard! Fortunately yesterday they let us go early from school and Mike had gotten to work early (and could therefore could leave early), so we were all home before the worst of it started. It was SUPER windy here and you could hardly see anything. I actually wedged all the patio furniture together because I was afraid the table might blow away. Fortunately we live at the top of a hill and so most of the snow blew away from our driveway and cleaning up was not as bad as it could have been. The houses across the street were not as lucky and one neighbor had about a 5 foot drift. Last night was definitely interesting with all the wind and the thunder and lightning. Never had I even heard of thundersnow before! Today we have cleaned up and have weathered the storm. Mike stayed home today and school was of course cancelled for me, so that took away a lot of stress. (Especially after we saw our neighbor stuck down the street in his SUV....shoveling the street to try and make it back home!) I took a few pictures of some of our big snow drifts and of Riley loving it too. Payton stayed inside where it was cozy and warm, so no pictures of her. Sorry! Currently Riley is playing out in the snow with the neighbors and I have already gotten the call that school is cancelled tomorrow:) So the blizzard of 2011 is behind us and now we can stay inside where it is warm as temperatures plummet!
