Blizzard 2011
Well the Warren family has survived their first blizzard! Fortunately yesterday they let us go early from school and Mike had gotten to work early (and could therefore could leave early), so we were all home before the worst of it started. It was SUPER windy here and you could hardly see anything. I actually wedged all the patio furniture together because I was afraid the table might blow away. Fortunately we live at the top of a hill and so most of the snow blew away from our driveway and cleaning up was not as bad as it could have been. The houses across the street were not as lucky and one neighbor had about a 5 foot drift. Last night was definitely interesting with all the wind and the thunder and lightning. Never had I even heard of thundersnow before! Today we have cleaned up and have weathered the storm. Mike stayed home today and school was of course cancelled for me, so that took away a lot of stress. (Especially after we saw our neighbor stuck down the street in his SUV....shoveling the street to try and make it back home!) I took a few pictures of some of our big snow drifts and of Riley loving it too. Payton stayed inside where it was cozy and warm, so no pictures of her. Sorry! Currently Riley is playing out in the snow with the neighbors and I have already gotten the call that school is cancelled tomorrow:) So the blizzard of 2011 is behind us and now we can stay inside where it is warm as temperatures plummet!
